In my life I’ve had many different jobs as well as many different roles. That’s what happens when you live a long time.
My favorites have always revolved around family life — daughter, cousin, wife, mother, and grandmother. I’ve also enjoyed being a Fake Cousin, a friend, and a Stephen Minister as well as a magazine publisher, an author, and a junior high English teacher.
Jobs and roles I haven’t liked? Dental assistant (I’m simply not neat enough), teenaged babysitter (way too challenging for this only child), and disciplinarian (talking it through always trumped punishing).
Now with this site, I have a new role: blogger. Here I’ll share my life adventures — old and new, big and small, successes and failures — with humor and hope. Always with humor and hope.
Because, after all, it’s humor and hope that make life worth living. And it’s humor and hope that have allowed me to face aging with a brave and appreciative heart.
